    Actually, you don’t need ‘konnichiwa’ — it would be too easy to make a mistake of afternoon, evening, etc…a simpler way that most common Japanese use between friends is:

    genki desuka? (sounds like gain-kee desk-a)

    …no matter where I’ve been in the world, the simpler the language try, the best — it’s a lot more enjoyable that way too!

    Japanese is a beautiful, expressive and rewarding language — like any language! Learn as many as you can!
